Today, I headed to Skylawn Memorial Park between San Mateo and Half Moon Bay. It's an absolutely stunning memorial park high up on a hill with 360-panoramic views of some pretty spectacular California coastal scenery. I went with my best pal and her father to have her mother’s remains moved from a very high up mausoleum spot in an isolated area of the mausoleum building to a lower one, nearer a fountain and a beautiful stained glass window overlooking the ocean toward Half Moon Bay. It was two hours in traffic there and two back, but I promised my friend I’d be by her side for the transfer. Her father, an elderly man of quiet dignity and a wonderful sense of humor, bolstered my friend with stories about her mother through the process. My friend held up much better than she expected. It was lovely watching the interaction between father and daughter. I’m glad I could be there to bear witness.
I was able to post some pics from my various travels over the past couple of weeks on the “Stuff I Like Page.” I’m back to work tomorrow, so I’m going to unpack—somehow never got around to it last night!
The most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched, they must be felt with the heart.
