Everyday Business

Being necessary to a business is a good thing—it gives one some sense of job security.  But, when you are a one-person deep position and nothing gets done while you are away, it becomes a bit stressful to return after a stress-free vacation!  I don’t know if I’ll ever recover from my summer vacation—maybe it will just provide the impetus to do it more frequently.  Of course, that would mean expanding the travel budget, and with kids returning and groceries to be bought, I’m thinking that may be difficult—though not impossible.  I’m just going to keep a positive thought in that regard.  Which reminds me—I better clear that refrigerator out.  I’m sure the milk has gone bad in the six weeks they’ve been gone, right?

It’s been extremely cool the past few days getting emails from B & J, the boy part of the household from their command central at their dad’s house.  One of the things I did was get B a computer for his room.  He is part of a larger whole down there and I knew he would prefer a little computer asset of his own.  His dad got him all hooked up over the weekend and it’s been a lot of fun emailing with him.  The boy has a job at last (besides his babysitting gig) and enrolled for his sophomore year this morning.  He’s growing up right before my eyes.  Hope to see him over Labor Day weekend, if all goes well.

Time to run to my sister’s house…she’s making dinner and I’m all ready to get dishpan hands after.

Life is made up of small pleasures. Happiness is made up of those tiny successes. The big ones come too infrequently. And if you don't collect all these tiny successes, the big ones don't really mean anything.
