My little attempts for marketing this site went as well as I expected over the last month. Traffic picked up and my hitcount has increased hugely. I finally crossed the magical 10,000 visitors mark. One of my blogs, cross-posted on The Peace Tree was rumored to have ended up on the desks of folks who might actually be able to take some action. The power of the Internet is pretty amazing. Who knew?
One of the things I’ve learned along the way is that there are some dubious “experts” out there and some wacky ideas for marketing that I’m not really going to attempt. Also, I’ve learned that the blog software I use is really, really different than most others and has some serious limitations. But, it’s easy to use for me now, so I doubt I’ll change—I’ll just have to live with those limitations. Thing is, I just like to write and even if my readership dwindled back down to where it started, it would still be fun.
I submitted my site for reviews at two sites that are know to be absolutely brutal. No sunshine and roses from them. More like a boot up the ass and a poke in the eye with a stick. In some sick pseudo-masochistic way, I’m looking forward to getting slapped. And, if out of that, I can improve the site, then alright.
Anyway, as I put in one bitchin’ day high atop the other floors in my office building, I just thought I’d say thanks for tuning in all this time, and for new readers, thanks for stopping by. I hope to see and hear more of you.
