More

Server issues prevented me from posting yesterday. Well, that and I had nothing to say.

The big leap to hiring a weekend babysitter worked out well. No disasters occurred, unless you count an overflowing toilet a disaster, and in my house, that is just another one of those things. Meals were prepared, chores were done, laundry was folded, and video games were played unchecked throughout the weekend. They tread perilously close to making me obsolete outside of providing financial support. Jeez, it makes it clear I’m doing my job getting them on their road to independence, but couldn’t they just want to sit on my lap once in a while and have me read them a bedtime story?

Leaving my weekend retreat is getting harder and harder. I look out to the future and don’t have a clue what it holds. The living in the moment is pretty freakin’ wonderful and leaves me wanting more. But, what is more? Ah, that is the question, isn’t it?

My quote today, I’m sure George W., who apparently read Camus, might be familiar with. Okay, that was facetious, you know it was.

Real generosity toward the future lies in giving all to the present
~ Albert Camus.
