It’s fun cruising around the blogsophere, finding other like-minded individuals and exploring new ideas as well. Yesterday, on Armstrong & Getty, my favorite morning talk radio show on KSTE 650AM here in Sacramento, they were talking about the release of President Bush’s reading list and how incredible it was he was reading Camus (GW pronounced Cahmuss--I wonder if he knows the difference between an existentialist and a botanist) and said, “I read three Shakespeares.” Who says that? “I read three Shakespeares?”
So, I did my usual snooping and ran across this great blog called CarpetBagger Report, which had a lot to say on the subject. After reading it, I linked through to some other interesting discourse on the incredible amount of reading done by a guy who doesn’t even like to read the newspaper. Play around with it, it’s a lot of fun reading. GW also managed to use the word “eclectic” during his discussion with the press about his reading tastes, which was quite amazing. But the funniest thing was as reporters started to obviously have fun with this whole ridiculous idea by hinting that they might actually quiz Bush about what he’d read, his aide whispered in his ear and suddenly, the President left the briefing room. Wise of him, I think.
Saturday, we are off for a day of kayaking and paddleboating.
Tonight, the Sacramento Monarchs lost in Detroit to the Shock in Game 2 of the WNBA Finals. I’ll be at the first home game on Sunday, and I’m crossing everything that they win!
