Yesterday, I did some things I don’t normally get an opportunity to do. I have joined the Sacramento Food Forums and yesterday went to my first meetup at Vientiane, a hole-in-the-wall Laotian restaurant in West Sacramento. Look for my sister’s review of our experience on the Forum. It was great to meet the folks I usually only get to read helpful food/restaurant tips from. I finally got to meet Mellie, the Forum owner, with whom I’d shared more than a few e-mails since she started reading my blog. What a great bunch of people and a lot of fun!
And, my petite, charming, yet elusive cousin, who currently resides in a more hippie-like community in Northern California, arrived for a visit. Three of us made fabulous vegetarian appetizers for dinner (well, they made them, I ate them) at my place and caught up on stuff. After some little wine had flowed, I was telling them the story of Red Hog and his visit this summer that took us to Good Vibrations.
HahnatHome: I always take my favorite toys when I travel. In my carry-on. Proudly.
Dating Goddess: OMG, I couldn’t do that, what if they thought it was a weapon, stuck you in security with everyone staring at you, and then waved it around after they pull it out to inspect it? I’d die.
Cuz: I don’t think they’d do that. Lots of my friends travel with their toys. Not me, of course, other people.
HahnatHome: No, they never pull it out of the bag. It isn’t a weapon after all, but is definitely part of my love arsenal.
Dating Goddess: But, you know, I heard, upon high recommendation, there is a new toy out that is fabulous.
Cuz: What is it?
HahnatHome: Who recommended it?
Dating Goddess: A friend. And, it’s called Doc Johnson Lucid Dream No. 39
Cuz: Oooh, so it’s medically recommended. Where does Dr. Johnson practice? How much is it?
Dating Goddess: I figured it would be very expensive considering its very high recommendation; it may even be covered by major medical plans!
(Who, I’m wondering, recommended this in such a way that Dating
Goddess’ eyes have lit up like this?)
Dating Goddess: So, I looked it up and it’s only $17.99. That’s like the same as a bottle of wine. I’m thinking the wine just makes you happy for one night! I’m thinking stocking stuffer, in case Santa’s listening!
So, that’s my helpful hint to pamper yourself this Christmas—treat yourself again and again!
