“Humanity is sitting on a ticking time bomb. If the vast majority of the world's scientists are right, we have just ten years to avert a major catastrophe that could send our entire planet into a tail-spin of epic destruction involving extreme weather, floods, droughts, epidemics and killer heat waves beyond anything we have ever experienced.” http://www.climatecrisis.net/aboutthefilm/
If there’s one movie you, as a human being living on our planet have to see—and now, it’s “An Inconvenient Truth.” Don’t let the fact a former politician without a political agenda, just a humanist agenda, is telling the tale stop you from seeing this film. Don’t worry if you’re a Democrat or a Republican. It’s powerful and about as scary as it can be. This is one of those things that we can’t shut out of our mind because of its enormity, as we do the 40,000 children who die everyday or the fact that entire populations of wildlife, flora, and fauna are lost daily, or that we are locked in a war in the Mideast where our children are dying daily. Go—see it—for your kids, hell, go see it for your dog or cat—just go see it.
It also reminded me I’m kind of glad now that I can’t afford to own oceanfront property on either Coast. So, I’m glad I’m making at least one more trip seaside before it’s all underwater.
Today’s quote (below), in the face of the cold, raw data available, reminds me that his type of thinking is going to be our undoing. Damn, I kinda liked it here.
The whole (global warming) thing is created to destroy America's free enterprise system and our economic stability.
